Privacy policy

WeatherRadar.uk is designed to work with as little personal data as possible.

What we process

  • Approximate location from your IP address. When you open the homepage we perform a coarse IP-to-town lookup (via the ip-api.com service) so we can show your local forecast. The result is cached for 24 hours; your IP address is not stored beyond this lookup and is never used for advertising.
  • Your chosen location. If you pick a town or use the "My location" button, we remember it in a small cookie (wr_loc) so the site opens on your town next time. Device geolocation is used only when you explicitly tap the button, and the coordinates are not stored.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP, URL, time) for security and troubleshooting, retained for a limited period.

What we don’t do

  • No accounts, no profiles, no selling of data.
  • No advertising trackers or cross-site tracking.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you, and the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). In practice we hold almost nothing — but if you have any questions, contact us and we’ll help.
