About sea temperatures
Satellite & model sea-surface temperatures
Sea temperatures come from satellite and model sea-surface analyses (marine reanalysis via Open-Meteo). Around the UK the sea is warmest in late August and September — typically 16–19°C on southern and western coasts, cooler in Scotland. Note that a shallow, sheltered bay can be a few degrees warmer than open water.
