Live precipitation across the UK and Ireland. The animation shows recent rainfall frame by frame; switch to satellite for cloud cover. Click a marker to open that place’s forecast.
The precipitation layer is built from weather-model and satellite observation data (OpenWeatherMap or NASA IMERG), updated continuously. It shows where precipitation is falling and how heavy it is across the UK and Ireland.
The colour scale shows intensity: light blue = light rain, green = moderate rain, yellow/orange = heavy rain, red = very heavy rain or a downpour.
Satellite mode shows cloud cover from NASA’s satellite imagery (true-colour, updated daily) — useful for seeing weather systems approaching from the Atlantic. Switch between rain and satellite with the buttons above the map.
